CHICAGO, IL, Mar. 23, 2015—The Illinois Safe Schools Alliance will be hosting the 14th Night of Noise at 5:30 pm on April 17 at the Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph Street. Hundreds of Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) students from schools across Chicago will gather to conclude the Day of Silence, which protests the bullying of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and allied (LGBTQA) youth.
The Alliance Youth Committee will invite GSA members to talk about their Day of Silence experiences. U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill) will speak about issues impacting LGBTQA youth. Mister E. Machine, a Chicago-based indie rock group with a rainbow twist, will be launching their music video for “Rosa Marie,” a song about anti-bullying. James Panther, a Portland-based musician, will be performing piano-driven original pop inspired by themes such as queer spirituality and self-love.
